Parachinar, November 23, 2024- A Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government helicopter came under fire in Parachinar while carrying a delegation led by Provincial Law Minister Aftab Alam Advocate, according to sources.

Despite the attack, the helicopter landed safely, and all members of the delegation remained unharmed. The delegation was dispatched on the instructions of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to assess the law-and-order situation in Kurram District and reactivate the local peace jirga.

The delegation included Chief Secretary Nadeem Aslam Chaudhry, Kohat Division Commissioner, DIG Kohat, and other senior officials.

The incident highlights the volatile security situation in Kurram, where tribal clashes and terrorist threats have escalated in recent days. Authorities have yet to confirm who was behind the attack, but investigations are underway.

Efforts to restore peace in the region remain ongoing, with officials reaffirming their commitment to stabilizing the area and addressing the underlying causes of unrest.
