Islamabad, August 30, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended his warmest felicitations to his dear brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Government and the brotherly people of the Republic of Türkiye on the joyous occasion of Victory Day.
In his message, the Prime Minister said that August 30 commemorates the historic victory achieved under the leadership of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, which laid the foundations of the modern Turkish Republic.
“Pakistan joins its Turkish brothers and sisters in honouring this proud legacy of courage and national resolve,” he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the bonds between Pakistan and Türkiye were bonds of the heart, forged over centuries of shared faith, history and struggle.
He said the two nations had reaffirmed their strategic expression of enduring brotherhood through the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, which brings Pakistan and Türkiye, alongside the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, together in pursuit of common security and collective deterrence.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further deepening its strategic partnership with Türkiye across all domains for the shared prosperity and security of the two countries.
He expressed hope that the abiding friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye would continue to flourish for generations to come.
“Yaşasın Pakistan–Türkiye Kardeşliği!” the Prime Minister said, meaning “Long live Pakistan–Türkiye brotherhood!”
