Islamabad, September 2, 2026: Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda has been awarded the “Khizmati Shoista” (For Meritorious Service) Medal by Tajik President and Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon in recognition of his distinguished service.
According to the Tajik Embassy in Islamabad, the award was conferred on August 28, 2026, through a presidential decree issued by President Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The “Khizmati Shoista” Medal is among the state honours awarded to individuals in recognition of meritorious service and contributions to the country.
Ambassador Yusuf Sharifzoda has been representing Tajikistan in Pakistan and has played a role in strengthening friendly relations and promoting bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Pakistan and Tajikistan enjoy close and brotherly ties, with bilateral cooperation expanding across political, economic, trade and cultural fields, as well as people-to-people contacts, regional connectivity and other areas of mutual interest.
The award also highlights the importance attached by Tajikistan to diplomatic efforts aimed at deepening relations with Pakistan and strengthening cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
