Rawalpindi, September 22, 2026: The ninth edition of Pakistan-Russia Joint Exercise Druzhba-IX and the second edition of Pakistan-Oman Joint Exercise Washaq Al Jabal-II (Mountain Lynx-II) commenced on Tuesday at Cherat and the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi, respectively.
The two-week exercises bring together contingents from the Pakistan Army, Russian Army and Royal Army of Oman to share operational experience, refine counter-terrorism drills and procedures, and enhance interoperability.
The participating forces will undertake joint training and exchange best practices to improve their combat skills and tactical expertise.
The exercises are also aimed at further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation between Pakistan and Russia and Pakistan and Oman.
