Islamabad, September 24, 2026: Pakistan Television (PTV) batter Mohammad Shahzad created history on Thursday by scoring Pakistan’s fastest first-class century, reaching the milestone in just 49 balls during the third round of the President’s Trophy Grade-I.
Shahzad produced a blistering display of attacking batting against Kingsmen Academy at the Diamond Cricket Ground in Islamabad, surpassing the previous record held by former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
Misbah had scored a 56-ball century against Australia in 2014, a mark that had stood as the fastest first-class hundred by a Pakistani batter. Shahzad broke the record with an innings featuring 12 fours and eight sixes.

Shahzad reached his century off 49 deliveries and continued his assault before eventually being dismissed for 114 off 62 balls, maintaining a remarkable scoring rate throughout his innings.
His century also ranks among the eight fastest hundreds in first-class cricket history.
The innings was Shahzad’s sixth first-class century and provided PTV with a major contribution on the opening day of their third-round fixture.
At the time of filing, PTV were 239 for six after 48 overs, with Taimur Khan on 31 and Ammad Butt on four.
Mohammad Taha scored 43 off 72 balls, including six fours, while Yasir Khan made 13 off 40 deliveries. Sharoon Siraj contributed 16 off 46 balls, hitting three fours, while Ammar and Waqar Hussain scored five and two respectively.
