Mumbai, September 24, 2026: Veteran Hindi film actor Mushtaq Khan has passed away at the age of 56, according to information available on Thursday.
Khan was reportedly admitted to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai after his condition deteriorated. He was being treated in the intensive care unit and reportedly breathed his last on Thursday evening. An official statement from his family or close associates is awaited.
Known for his supporting roles and comic timing, Khan worked extensively across Hindi films, television and theatre during a career spanning several decades.
His notable film credits include Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke (1993), Raja (1995), Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001), Jodi No. 1 (2001), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Welcome (2007), Wanted (2009), Oh My God! (2012), Stree (2018), Gadar 2 (2023) and Stree 2 (2024).
One of his most remembered performances was as Gul Khan in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. He later reprised his association with the franchise in Gadar 2, more than two decades after the original film.
Khan remained active in the entertainment industry in recent years, with credits including Jaat, Dhoom Dhaam, Vanvaas, Baby John, Udaipur Files, Anveshan, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and Cocaine, among others.
Throughout his career, Khan moved between comedy, drama and character roles, becoming a familiar presence in Hindi cinema. His work across different generations of Bollywood productions earned him recognition as a dependable supporting actor.
His death marks the loss of a familiar character actor whose performances remained part of Hindi cinema for several decades.
