Islamabad, September 27,2026: President Asif Ali Zardari has called for the development of a responsible, inclusive and sustainable tourism sector in Pakistan, emphasizing the role of digital technology and artificial intelligence in transforming the global tourism industry.
In his message on the occasion of World Tourism Day, observed on September 27, 2026, the president extended greetings to the people of Pakistan, the global tourism community and travellers worldwide.
Referring to this year’s theme, “Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism,” President Zardari highlighted how technology and artificial intelligence are changing the way people plan journeys, explore destinations and experience different cultures.
He emphasized the importance of ensuring that technological advancements remain responsible, inclusive and beneficial to communities.
The president said Pakistan offers remarkable diversity, ranging from the mountains of the north and the ancient Indus Valley civilization to its Islamic and Gandhara heritage, cities, deserts and coastal areas.
He said the warmth and hospitality of the Pakistani people remain the country’s greatest strength.
President Zardari noted that tourism can create livelihoods, support local businesses and provide opportunities for young people and women while generating economic activity across the country.
He also stressed the need to protect the natural environment, cultural heritage and traditions for future generations.
Inviting travellers from around the world to visit Pakistan, the president encouraged them to experience the country’s hospitality and discover its natural beauty and cultural diversity.
He called for building a tourism sector that embraces innovation while remaining rooted in the values of hospitality, respect and responsibility, adding that Pakistan welcomes the world with open arms.
