Islamabad, October 1, 2026: Mohammad Zikria A Zia on Thursday formally assumed charge as President of the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), along with Mohammad Ashfaq Hussain Chatah as Senior Vice President and Mohammad Waqas Khan as Vice President.

The new office-bearers assumed their responsibilities in the presence of ICCI Founder Group Chairman Sheikh Tariq Sadiq, former ICCI presidents Abdul Rauf Alam, Khalid Javed, Mian Akram Farid, Zafar Bakhtawari, Mian Shaukat Masood, Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Sheikh Amir Waheed, Mehfooz Ellahi, Baser Daud and Shakil Munir, as well as executive members and senior members of the chamber.

President Markazi Tanzeem-e-Tajran Pakistan and Pakistan Business Forum Kashif Chaudhry and President All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran Ajmal Baloch also attended the ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Zikria Zia said leading the ICCI was both a great honour and a major responsibility, pledging to make every effort to protect and promote the interests of the business community.

He said his focus would remain on resolving key issues facing businesses, improving the business environment and working for the development of markets, industrial areas and Islamabad as a whole.

“We will work collectively and remain accessible to the business community,” he said.

Senior Vice President Ashfaq Chatah and Vice President Waqas Khan assured ICCI members that they would perform their responsibilities with dedication and work closely with the business community to address their concerns.

Sheikh Tariq Sadiq congratulated the new office-bearers and expressed confidence that the new leadership would continue ICCI’s tradition of serving the business community and further strengthening the chamber.

Former President Sardar Tahir Mehmood, Senior Vice President Tahir Ayub and Vice President Mohammad Irfan Chaudhry also congratulated the new leadership and conveyed their best wishes.

The outgoing office-bearers were later given a warm send-off in recognition of their services to ICCI and the business community.
