Islamabad, October 5, 2026: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Monday directed authorities to produce jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and former prime minister Imran Khan at the next hearing of the Judicial Complex attack case.
ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra conducted the hearing of the case relating to an incident in 2023 when Imran Khan visited the Judicial Complex in Islamabad to seek bail in multiple cases.
A large number of PTI supporters had gathered at the complex during his appearance, where security barriers were dismantled, the entrance gate was vandalised and court proceedings were disrupted.
Following the incident, Islamabad police registered a terrorism case against several suspects at Ramna police station under Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) and Section 353 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
During Monday’s proceedings, Judge Sipra directed authorities to produce Imran Khan, who is currently incarcerated at Adiala Jail, before the court at the next hearing either in person or through video link.
The court also declared former PTI leaders Farrukh Habib, Hammad Azhar, Murad Saeed and Shibli Faraz proclaimed offenders and sought details of their properties.
The ATC further issued non-bailable arrest warrants for former Punjab Assembly speaker Wasiq Qayyum Abbasi and PTI leader Hassan Niazi.
The court adjourned further proceedings until November 5.
Imran Khan has remained in prison since August 2023 and faces multiple cases following his ouster as prime minister in April 2022 after a no-confidence vote.
