Islamabad, October 5, 2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Riyadh on Monday to attend a meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee (SPDC), established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
Upon arrival, Dar was received by Major General Othman Al-Zahrani of the Saudi Armed Forces, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq and Haitham, a protocol officer at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Riyadh.
The SPDC meeting will bring together senior officials from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye to discuss the latest regional developments and review ongoing cooperation under the Makkah defence framework.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye established the trilateral defence framework in August, under which an armed attack against any one of the three countries is to be regarded as an attack against all three.
