Islamabad, October 7, 2026: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry met Polish Minister and Head of the Council of Ministers Tomasz Siemoniak on Wednesday to discuss bilateral relations and ways to further strengthen security cooperation between Pakistan and Poland.
The two sides agreed to enhance cooperation in security, intelligence sharing, counterterrorism, illegal migration and collaboration between law enforcement agencies. They also emphasized the need to give fresh impetus to bilateral cooperation and strengthen high-level contacts.
The meeting agreed to finalize various memorandums of understanding (MoUs), including an agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance, at the earliest. It was also decided that a delegation of Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior, led by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, would visit Poland soon to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The two sides also agreed to expand employment and legal migration opportunities for Pakistanis in Europe as part of efforts to curb illegal migration. Discussions also covered expanding people-to-people contacts and strengthening trade and business ties between Pakistan and Poland.
The possibility of introducing a visa-free facility for holders of official passports of Pakistan and Poland was also discussed.
Speaking at the meeting, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said the Government of Pakistan had adopted a zero-tolerance policy against drugs, illegal migration and organized crime.
“Government measures have resulted in a 64 percent decline in illegal migration from Pakistan to Europe,” Naqvi said.
He said greater mutual cooperation and bilateral coordination could significantly help reduce such crimes. Siemoniak assured Pakistan of Poland’s full cooperation in this regard.
The Polish minister said Pakistani citizens arriving in Poland through legal channels would be welcomed. He added that Pakistan and Poland shared a common position on counterterrorism and security matters.
Siemoniak also emphasized that, alongside political and security relations, promoting economic ties between the two countries was equally important.
Naqvi thanked Poland for its cooperation regarding the European Union’s GSP Plus scheme.
Siemoniak said Poland fully supported Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region.
Secretary Interior and other senior officials were also present at the meeting.
