Dushanbe, October 19,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met Tajikistan Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda in Dushanbe, where the two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, connectivity, defence and culture.

During the meeting, Ishaq Dar thanked the Tajik prime minister for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation and appreciated the arrangements for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Council of Heads of Government (CHG) meeting.

He also congratulated Tajikistan on the 35th anniversary of its independence.

The two leaders reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation in various fields, while emphasising the importance of promoting people-to-people exchanges.

They also underscored the need for greater cooperation on climate change and water security, recognising the importance of addressing shared environmental challenges.

Highlighting Pakistan’s expertise in disaster management, the deputy prime minister proposed strengthening collaboration with Tajikistan through Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).

The two sides also exchanged views on regional developments, with Ishaq Dar reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with Tajikistan to promote regional peace, stability and deeper economic integration.

The meeting reflected the two countries’ shared resolve to further strengthen their longstanding bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
