Islamabad, October 20,2026: Uzbekistan Airways, the national airline of Uzbekistan, will introduce additional scheduled flights between Tashkent and Islamabad from October 26, 2026, increasing connectivity between Pakistan and Uzbekistan and providing greater convenience for passengers.
Currently, Uzbekistan Airways operates two weekly flights on the Tashkent–Islamabad–Tashkent route on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Under the revised schedule, flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, increasing the frequency from two to three flights per week.
The additional service aims to expand passenger capacity and facilitate travel for tourists, business travellers and transit passengers. The revised schedule is also expected to provide greater flexibility for travellers and strengthen bilateral cooperation in tourism, trade, business and cultural exchange.
The enhanced air connectivity is expected to play a significant role in attracting more Pakistani tourists to Uzbekistan, promoting religious and pilgrimage tourism, and showcasing the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Improved flight options will make it easier for Pakistani visitors to explore Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, renowned historical cities along the ancient Silk Road.
The increased frequency will also strengthen Tashkent’s position as a regional transport hub, creating additional opportunities for travellers from Pakistan to connect with other Central Asian countries.
According to available figures, more than 20,000 Pakistani tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2025, while nearly 20,000 travelled to the country during the first nine months of 2026. These figures highlight the growing interest in Uzbekistan as a tourist destination and the significant potential for further expanding tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Currently, eight scheduled flights operate between Pakistan and Uzbekistan every week. These include four flights on the Tashkent–Lahore route and two on the Tashkent–Islamabad route, alongside services connecting Tashkent and Karachi.
With the introduction of the additional flight, the total number of scheduled weekly flights between the two countries will rise to nine.
The initiative is expected to strengthen air connectivity, increase two-way tourist flows and create further opportunities for expanding trade, economic, cultural and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
