Islamabad, November 4,2026: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) on Wednesday announced a 23-member national squad for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers, scheduled to take place in Laos from November 8 to 20.
The selected players earned their places following impressive performances in the recently concluded PFF National U-17 Football Championship 2026, which provided emerging talent from across the country an opportunity to compete for selection in the national team. The championship served as a merit-based platform for identifying promising young footballers, with standout performers securing places in the squad for the continental qualifying campaign.
Head coach Mohammad Habib will lead the young Shaheens in Group D, where Pakistan will face Iran, Jordan, hosts Laos and Sri Lanka.
The national squad comprises three goalkeepers, eight defenders, seven midfielders and five forwards.
The goalkeeping department includes Samar Razzaq, Wali Ullah and Ahsan Ullah.
The defensive line features Nadeem Hussain, Hamza Khan, Muhammad Hammad, Syed Manzar Shah, Mubashir Shah, Muhammad Awais, Hasnain Ali and Mohsin Amin.
Abdul Sammad, Arsalan Fareedi, Muhammad Khalil Ullah, Muhammad Irmad Sarwar, Muhammad Anees, Bari Dad and Essa Khan have been selected as midfielders.
The attacking responsibilities will be shared by Muhammad Raffy, Muhammad Moosa, Muhammad Shahzad, Hazrat Abbas and Haris Khan.
The upcoming qualifiers will provide Pakistan’s young players with an opportunity to test themselves against strong regional opponents and gain valuable international experience.
The selection also reflects the PFF’s efforts to strengthen the country’s youth football structure and create pathways for emerging players to progress to the international stage.
The young Shaheens will now look to carry their domestic championship performances into the continental competition and secure qualification for the AFC U-17 Asian Cup 2027.
