Rawalpindi, December 02,2024- Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Barrister Gohar, has stated that reaching D-Chowk was not the party’s objective, nor were any party leaders instructed to gather there. He said that discussions about D-Chowk and Sangjani are only being brought up to divert attention from the martyrdoms during the protests.

Speaking to the media after meeting with the Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, Barrister Gohar revealed that the founder has instructed the party to raise the issue of firing during the D-Chowk protest in the Senate and National Assembly.

“The real issue is not D-Chowk or Sangjani; it’s the fact that bullets were fired,” he emphasized when questioned by journalists about the decision to proceed to D-Chowk. Gohar called for an investigation, stating that firing in any form is unacceptable.

The PTI Chairman conveyed the founder’s condolences for the loss of party workers and personnel and his directive to maintain party unity. Additionally, he mentioned the Imran Khan’s instructions to summon a session of the National Assembly to discuss the hardships faced by PTI members, especially those from Punjab.

Barrister Gohar also addressed internal party matters, saying, “The party conducts self-accountability and does not rely on audio leaks. The founder will announce the future course of action soon.”

Regarding the protests, he reiterated, “Firing should not have happened anywhere, no matter the circumstances.” He clarified that it wasn’t necessary for every leader to be present at the protest site, as all leaders were in coordination and fulfilling their respective responsibilities.

He dismissed speculations, reaffirming that the detained workers’ numbers were as officially reported and stressing the importance of staying focused on the key issues.
