Islamabad, December 12, 2024: Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Omar Ayub announced that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready to engage in dialogue with all stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of political reconciliation.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Ayub revealed that PTI’s founder had formed a committee empowered to negotiate and make decisions. “We are prepared for dialogue, and the committee reflects our commitment to resolving political issues,” he said.

Commenting on his recent meeting with the National Assembly Speaker, Ayub clarified that it was a condolence visit regarding the speaker’s sister’s passing, and formal talks had yet to commence. However, he welcomed the possibility of the speaker playing a constructive role in facilitating discussions between the government and opposition.

“The realization is growing that PTI cannot be silenced, and political dialogue is essential for the country’s progress,” he stated, reiterating the party’s call for the release of political prisoners and the establishment of a judicial commission to investigate the May 9 unrest.

Earlier, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar addressed the National Assembly, urging lawmakers to prioritize dialogue and accountability. “This parliament must serve as the platform for fair resolution. Our negotiation committee is not a sign of weakness but a step towards reconciliation,” he asserted, warning that without meaningful progress, PTI would have no option but to take to the streets.

Gohar also stressed the importance of addressing the political turmoil surrounding the events of May 9, calling for justice and unity to move the country forward.
