Lahore, December 13, 2024: Pakistan’s seasoned all-rounder Imad Wasim has once again announced his retirement from international cricket, marking the end of a remarkable chapter in his career.

Imad took to social media to share his decision, stating, “After much thought and reflection, I have decided to retire from international cricket.”

Reflecting on his journey, the left-handed all-rounder called representing Pakistan the “greatest honor” of his life. “Every moment wearing the green jersey has been unforgettable. Representing Pakistan on the world stage has been a privilege beyond words,” he expressed.

Imad also extended heartfelt gratitude to his fans, acknowledging their unwavering support throughout his career. “From the highs to the lows, your encouragement has always pushed me to give my best for our beloved country,” he added.

Despite stepping away from international cricket, the 35-year-old clarified that he would continue to play domestic and franchise cricket. “While this chapter ends, I look forward to entertaining you all in new ways through domestic and franchise cricket,” he assured fans.

Imad had previously reversed his retirement earlier this year at the insistence of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to participate in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, his performance in the tournament was modest, scoring 19 runs in two innings and taking three wickets in three matches.

Over his career, Imad represented Pakistan in 75 T20Is and 55 ODIs, scoring 1,540 runs, including six half-centuries, and taking 117 wickets.

This announcement comes after a prolonged absence from international cricket since the T20 World Cup earlier this year. Fans and cricket enthusiasts will now look forward to seeing him in action in domestic leagues and international franchise tournaments.
