Peshawar, December 15,2024: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reaffirmed his unwavering allegiance to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, stating that the provincial government stands ready to follow his directives, including civil disobedience if required.

Speaking to international media at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, Gandapur criticised the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) coalition for neglecting national priorities. He alleged that state institutions were fixated on dismantling PTI rather than addressing pressing challenges facing the nation.

“The law-and-order situation has deteriorated significantly since the PDM took over. During Imran Khan’s tenure, the country was far more stable. Unfortunately, the current regime is solely focused on ending PTI,” he claimed.

Highlighting his administration’s performance, Gandapur pointed to improved governance, security, and economic measures in KP. He said police forces had been deployed to sensitive areas, particularly in the merged districts, to combat terrorism.

“We are fighting terrorism on the front lines, and our province has outperformed others in maintaining security. Over the past nine months, we’ve increased revenue by 44% and met IMF targets that no other province has achieved,” he stated.

The chief minister also noted the release of record development funds, claiming his government disbursed more in six months than previous administrations did in a year. Initiatives such as a public complaints portal, a dedicated mining company for resource management, and new power transmission lines were cited as key milestones.

Gandapur voiced frustration over the federal government’s lack of decisive action on cross-border challenges with Afghanistan. He stressed that K-P has borne the brunt of instability stemming from the long shared border.

“Our province has made the greatest sacrifices for peace. Daily, our police and security forces risk their lives, yet Islamabad fails to address the issue seriously. We have consistently called for dialogue with Afghanistan during apex committee meetings, but no meaningful steps have been taken,” he lamented.

Expressing loyalty to PTI’s chairman, Gandapur declared his readiness to implement Imran Khan’s directives, including civil disobedience. “We are fully prepared to execute Khan’s decisions once details are provided. The struggle for constitutional rights, Khan’s release, and the restoration of our mandate will continue,” he vowed.

He also condemned the treatment of PTI workers during protests, alleging that hundreds had been injured or detained. “The sacrifices we’ve made for democracy and freedom are unparalleled. Our workers face violence and persecution, but we remain resolute in our commitment to the cause,” he said.
