Riyadh, December 15, 2024: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Saudi Arabia’s Public Security Police Headquarters in Riyadh on Sunday, where he was warmly received by the kingdom’s Public Security Chief, Lt. Gen. Mohammed AlBassami.

During his visit, Naqvi toured various departments within the state-of-the-art facility, including Saudi Arabia’s advanced Safe City Centre, which is equipped with cutting-edge technology to combat crime. He was given an overview of the country’s sophisticated anti-crime systems and public security operations.

In their meeting, Naqvi and AlBassami agreed to operationalize the joint task force between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the near future. Emphasizing the potential for collaboration, Naqvi expressed his admiration for Saudi Arabia’s exemplary public security system and highlighted opportunities for mutual benefit in police training and security operations.

“Pakistan is in the process of establishing a special protection unit dedicated to the security of diplomats,” Naqvi shared, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its security framework.

Naqvi was briefed on Saudi Arabia’s use of artificial intelligence to tackle crimes and reduce road accidents. Officials also outlined the role of special forces deployed during Hajj and Umrah, emphasizing the critical role of the Public Security Headquarters in managing all special forces operations across the kingdom.

The visit reflects the growing partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in advancing security and leveraging technological innovation to enhance law enforcement capabilities.
