Mohsin Naqvi meets Saudi counterpart, discusses security and anti-drug measures

Riyadh, December 17, 2024: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, in Riyadh on Tuesday to discuss security cooperation and strategies to combat drug trafficking.

During the meeting, both sides explored avenues for enhancing collaboration in the fight against drugs and addressed other matters of mutual interest.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the deep bond of religious devotion and respect that every Pakistani shares with Saudi Arabia. He acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s unwavering support for Pakistan during challenging times and conveyed heartfelt good wishes for the kingdom’s visionary leadership and its people. Naqvi also expressed gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s continued assistance to Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by prominent Saudi officials, including Deputy Interior Minister Nasser Al-Dawood, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Dr. Khalid Al-Batal, Director of Public Security Lieutenant General Muhammad Al-Bassamy, and Director General of Drug Control Major General Muhammad Al-Qarni.

On the Pakistani side, the delegation included Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, Director General of Passport and Immigration Mustafa Jamal Qazi, and Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Riffat Mukhtar Raja.
