Turkey and Pakistan emphasize achieving $5 billion bilateral trade target

Cairo, December 19, 2024: Turkey and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to achieving the $5 billion bilateral trade target, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the sidelines of the 11th D-8 Summit in Cairo.

During the meeting, the two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral relations and emphasized the need to work towards realizing the ambitious trade goal.

Both leaders reiterated their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and expressed solidarity with their cause.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the historic, fraternal, and multifaceted ties between Pakistan and Turkey. He called for enhanced cooperation in domestic investments and joint ventures to further strengthen economic ties.

President Erdogan underscored the deep-rooted, cultural, and religious bonds between Turkey and Pakistan, stating that the Turkish people hold a special place in their hearts for Pakistan.

The meeting underscored the shared vision of both countries to advance mutual interests and explore opportunities for closer economic collaboration.
