Khyber District, December 21, 2024: On the night of December 19/20, Pakistan’s security forces successfully intercepted and neutralized a group of militants attempting to infiltrate through the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in the Rajgal area of Khyber District. Acting swiftly on intelligence, troops effectively engaged the infiltrators, eliminating four militants in the process.

In the intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Amir Sohail Afridi, a 22-year-old soldier from District Khyber, valiantly laid down his life for the nation, embracing martyrdom while defending the country’s sovereignty.

The Pakistan Army has reiterated its firm commitment to securing the nation’s borders and eradicating terrorism. The sacrifices of brave soldiers like Sepoy Afridi serve as a testament to this unwavering resolve.

Pakistan has consistently urged the Interim Afghan Government to enhance border management on their side and to prevent militants from using Afghan soil to launch attacks against Pakistan. It is expected that the Afghan authorities will fulfill their obligations in this regard.

The Pakistan Army remains resolute in its mission to protect the nation and ensure peace and stability, with the sacrifices of its personnel continuing to inspire and strengthen this determination.
