Lahore, December 22, 2024: Senior leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidery, has stated that the Madrassah Bill has been approved and will soon be officially notified. He warned that any reversal on the bill would lead to a massive protest march towards Islamabad.

Addressing the “Palestine Zindabad Conference” organized by JUI in Lahore, Maulana Haidery highlighted that the Madrassah Bill was passed unanimously by the ruling coalition. He criticized the President for raising objections to the bill after a delay of ten days.

He also accused certain clerics of being mobilized against the bill but expressed satisfaction that a consensus has now been reached supporting JUI-F’s stance. “If there is a U-turn, a sea of people will head to Islamabad,” Haidery reiterated.

Speaking on national issues, the JUI-F leader criticized the government for its failure to establish authority in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regions he described as “burning.” He questioned the government’s direction, asserting that fighting for one’s rights over natural resources is not an act of treason.

On the subject of Palestine, Haidery condemned the United States and Israel for disregarding the International Court of Justice’s rulings. He expressed hope that Palestinian governance would soon be established over Israel.

The event highlighted JUI’s commitment to addressing national and international challenges, including the protection of madrassah rights and solidarity with Palestine.
