Peshawar, January 7,2025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to establish a task force and set up multiple checkpoints to restore peace and security in Kurram district.

According to official documents from the provincial home department, 48 checkpoints will be established along the Tal-Parachinar Road. The government will be informed about the required funds for these police checkpoints, while the provincial Home Department will request the federal government to set up an FIA cybercrime wing in Parachinar.

The documents reveal that a special post force will be formed for the security of the Thal-Parachinar Road, comprising 399 ex-servicemen who will be recruited for this purpose.

Furthermore, all bunkers in Kurram will be dismantled with the assistance of police and district administration. The government is also considering purchasing weapons from local residents and will establish a special desk to expedite the issuance of weapon licenses.

In line with the decisions of the Apex Committee, weapons will be collected from Kurram residents by February 1, and a digital record of the collected arms will be maintained under the supervision of the district administration.
