Islamabad, January 10, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, conducted an inspection of major infrastructure projects, including Constitution Avenue, Margalla Avenue, and the Serena Interchange late last night.  During his visit, he reviewed ongoing work on the Secretariat to Bari Imam section of Margalla Road.

Chairman Randhawa instructed the MPO Directorate to expedite construction work, develop green belts and median strips with flowers, and enhance the road’s surroundings with attractive landscaping. He also emphasized the importance of lane marking on Margalla Road from Secretariat to Bari Imam and directed the installation of modern and aesthetically pleasing lights along the route.

During his visit to Constitution Avenue, Chairman Randhawa ordered the beautification and uplift of the avenue. He stressed the need to accelerate the installation of permanent decorative lights, highlighting that this would significantly reduce rental costs and enhance CDA’s assets.

At the Serena Interchange project, the Chairman inspected the progress and directed that permanent, modern LED lights be installed on the completed sections. He also instructed the completion of finishing work on the Suhrawardy underpass and slip roads, ensuring their opening to traffic without delay. Officials briefed him that both underpasses on Srinagar Highway would be opened for traffic this month.

Chairman Randhawa also examined the landscaping and horticulture work around the projects. At the Jinnah Avenue Interchange, he reviewed all construction activities and was informed that structural work on the flyover would soon be completed. He directed the design of high-quality landscaping around the interchange and emphasized its timely completion. He urged consultants and resident engineers to maintain construction quality and ensure swift progress at the sites.
