Mumbai, January 11, 2025: In the midst of swirling divorce rumours surrounding cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma, fashion influencer Urfi Javed has voiced her support for Verma, criticizing the tendency to unfairly blame women in such situations.

Urfi took to Instagram to express her discontent over the way women are often targeted when a relationship involving a cricketer comes to an end. Drawing from past examples, she pointed out how women like Dhanashree, Natasa Stankovic, and Anushka Sharma have been blamed in similar circumstances.

In her Instagram Stories, Urfi shared a video that claimed Dhanashree “ruined” Yuzvendra’s life and responded by addressing the double standards she perceives. “Every time a cricketer is breaking up or getting divorced, the woman is bashed left, right, and centre just because in our head our cricketer is our hero,” she wrote. Urfi continued, highlighting how in the case of Hardik Pandya and Natasa Stankovic, as well as Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, the female partners were unjustly blamed for the issues at hand.

“None of us have any idea what happened between the two or even during Natasha and Hardik’s case, but of course, it’s the woman who is at fault,” Urfi added. “And don’t forget the time when Anushka was blamed for Virat’s bad performances. Remember? So it’s always the woman who is to be blamed for the man’s action? These are grown men with fully functioning brains who know what they are doing,” she wrote, pointing out the unfairness of the situation.

Urfi’s stance has received considerable attention as she continues to advocate for women not to be blamed in circumstances they may not fully control.
