Parachinar, January 17, 2025: The death toll in the attack on a relief convoy heading to Parachinar has risen to nine, including two security personnel, after four of the five missing truck drivers were found dead in the Orwali area of Kurram district. The convoy had been transporting supplies when it was attacked in the Bagan area.

According to Kurram police officials, the bodies have been transported to the Alizai Hospital in Lower Kurram. The attack claimed the lives of two security personnel and seven truck drivers.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Kurram confirmed that the third relief convoy traveling from Kurram to Bagan was targeted by terrorists using rockets and gunfire. Three vehicles in the convoy sustained damage during the assault. In a swift response, security forces killed six terrorists.

Earlier, the first phase of the third relief convoy for Kurram had included 35 cargo vehicles carrying essential supplies such as medicines, vegetables, fruits, and food items. The convoy was heavily guarded by police, Frontier Corps (FC), and other security forces to ensure its safe passage.
