Bhimber, January 22, 2025: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to supporting the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) in their struggle for the right to self-determination. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s first Daanish School Center of Science and Technology in Bhimber, the premier vowed that Pakistan would continue its political, moral, and diplomatic support for Kashmir until the UN-mandated resolutions are implemented.

“As long as the people of Kashmir do not achieve their inalienable right to self-determination in accordance with United Nations resolutions, we will remain by their side,” said PM Shehbaz.

The prime minister strongly condemned the ongoing human rights violations in IIOJK, asserting that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people would not go in vain. Highlighting Pakistan’s commitment, he noted, “Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir is fully committed to supporting our Kashmiri brothers in their just cause.”

PM Shehbaz emphasized the importance of education in transforming the region. The establishment of the Daanish School Center of Science and Technology is part of a broader initiative to provide quality education to underprivileged and talented children.

The premier credited former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for conceiving the idea of Daanish Schools to uplift students from underdeveloped areas. “Thousands of students, including orphans and children from impoverished families, have graduated from Daanish Schools and are now serving in key sectors,” he said.

He added that the schools provide free books, meals, and boarding facilities, with separate campuses for boys and girls. The prime minister announced plans to establish more Daanish Schools in Neelum, Gilgit-Baltistan, Balochistan, and merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with all funding provided by the federal government.

He directed the authorities to ensure the completion and operationalization of these schools within one year, emphasizing their potential to bring an educational revolution to the region.

PM Shehbaz highlighted the government’s progress in tackling economic challenges, mentioning the decline in inflation and policy rates, as well as notable increases in exports and foreign remittances. He also shared that the World Bank has allocated $20 billion for Pakistan’s development over the next decade.

The premier reaffirmed the government’s commitment to successfully completing the IMF program, which has been crucial in averting a default.

Shehbaz stressed the need for eradicating terrorism to achieve sustainable development and prosperity. “Our armed forces and security personnel are making tremendous sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, and their efforts must be acknowledged,” he said.

The premier expressed confidence that those conspiring against Pakistan would fail, reaffirming his commitment to a united, strong, and prosperous nation.

This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing education and supporting the Kashmiri struggle for independence while addressing Pakistan’s broader socio-economic challenges.
