Rawalpindi, January 23, 2025: Pakistan’s security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, killing six terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Thursday.

The incident occurred during the night between January 22 and 23, when the movement of a group of terrorists, referred to as “Khwarij,” was detected by security forces in the Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan.

“Security forces effectively engaged the group, preventing their infiltration attempt. As a result, six Khwarij were neutralized,” the ISPR statement read. It further disclosed that a significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered during the operation.

Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan government to strengthen border management on its side and to fulfill its obligations to prevent the use of Afghan territory for acts of terrorism targeting Pakistan.

“Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their commitment to securing the country’s borders and eradicating the menace of terrorism,” the ISPR statement concluded.

This development underscores the ongoing challenges of maintaining security along the Pak-Afghan border, as well as Pakistan’s efforts to address cross-border terrorism.
