Karachi, January 30, 2025: An American woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, who traveled to Pakistan for love, now finds herself stranded in Karachi after the 19-year-old man she came for abandoned her.

Now, refusing to leave the country, Robinson has demanded $3,000 per week and insists she wants Pakistani citizenship.

The 33-year-old woman arrived in Karachi in pursuit of Nidal Ahmed Memon, whom she met online. However, under family pressure, Memon refused to marry her, leaving Robinson stranded at Karachi Airport for seven days.

With her tourist visa expired and no means to return, she went to Memon’s residence in Karachi’s Garden area, only to find that his family had locked the house and disappeared.

Robinson staged a sit-in outside the house, refusing to leave and taking shelter in the parking area. Concerned residents alerted authorities as crowds began gathering to see the stranded American woman. Speaking to a news channel, she stated, “You got to give me $3,000 a week. I’m becoming a citizen of Pakistan, that’s all I got to say for tonight.”

When asked why she wouldn’t leave, she responded: “If y’all dropping no bread by next week, I think I should leave.”

SDPO Clifton Faiza Sodhar met with Robinson and transferred her to a women’s police station for her safety, citing her unstable mental state. However, she insisted on returning to the Garden area, where she had originally staged her sit-in.

Meanwhile, police sources revealed that Nidal was taken into custody by intelligence agencies four days ago, while his family had already vacated their home.

A two-member US Consulate team met Robinson at Karachi Airport yesterday, but she refused to accept their help. The US authorities attempted to convince her to return home, but since she refused, they stated they could not force her. She even declined assistance from welfare organizations willing to provide shelter.
