Istanbul, February 10, 2025: President Asif Ali Zardari met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during a brief stopover in Istanbul while en route to Portugal.

The meeting took place at the Ataturk Airport State Guesthouse ahead of President Erdogan’s departure for Malaysia. Upon arrival, President Zardari was warmly received by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan before engaging in discussions with his Turkish counterpart.

According to a statement from the President’s Press Wing in Islamabad, the two leaders held productive talks on strengthening Pakistan-Turkiye relations, addressing mutual concerns, and exploring avenues for further cooperation. They underscored the enduring friendship between their nations and reaffirmed their shared commitment to regional peace and stability. This high-level diplomatic engagement comes as both countries seek to enhance collaboration in trade, defense, and cultural exchange.

Meanwhile, President Zardari is in Portugal to offer condolences following the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan.
