Lahore, February 16, 2025: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has highlighted the transformative impact of super seeders in modernizing agriculture across the province.

In just a few months, 1,000 farmers earned Rs579.5 million through super seeders, while the technology helped save 330 tons of wheat seeds and cut diesel consumption by 1.87 million liters compared to traditional methods.

She highlighted that farmers saved Rs4.86 billion in fuel costs, while wheat sowing expenses dropped by Rs3,666 per acre. She said that 7,805 farmers across 31 districts cultivated wheat on 110,014 acres using super seeders, with an additional 68,185 acres covered through rental services while 93% of farmers reported better wheat germination and found super seeders more effective than conventional methods.

Maryam Nawaz mentioned that the technology improved soil fertility, reduced labor costs by Rs100 per acre, and cut seed usage from 50 kg to 47 kg per acre. Super seeders also increased efficiency, allowing farmers to sow an acre of wheat within an hour.

Expressing satisfaction with the results, CM Maryam Nawaz reaffirmed her commitment to expanding agricultural mechanization, emphasizing that super seeders have significantly reduced labor, fuel, and time costs for farmers.

“Our mission is farmers’ prosperity, agricultural innovation, and development. We are committed to making Punjab a hub of modern agricultural technology, ensuring lower production costs and higher profits,” she stated.
