Islamabad, February 19, 2025: Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs, Senator Faisal Vawda, on Wednesday exposed a massive land scam involving the sale of prime Port Qasim land at throwaway prices.

During the committee session, Vawda revealed that 500 acres of land, valued at approximately Rs 40 billion at government rates and Rs 60 billion at market rates, was sold for a mere Rs 5 billion.

He further highlighted that the actual market price per acre ranges between Rs 70 million to Rs 80 million, while the land was fraudulently sold for just Rs 1 million per acre.

Additionally, another 200-acre plot was reportedly sold under similar dubious circumstances.

Terming it a “mega scandal,” Vawda demanded the cancellation of all fraudulent land allotments at Port Qasim. “We have obtained the complete records and will take strict action against those responsible,” he asserted.
