Peshawar, February 21, 20025: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has released its one-year performance report, detailing key initiatives and achievements from March 2024 to February 2025. The report highlights substantial efforts in social welfare, healthcare, education, and emergency response, benefiting thousands across the province.

According to the report, 37,000 special persons received financial assistance of PKR 10,000 each, while 2,000 university and college students were provided with electric wheelchairs. Additionally, 1,240 drug addicts underwent rehabilitation and treatment, and 570 hearing-impaired individuals were given hearing aids. To support special education, the government allocated PKR 316 million to distribute 11 HiAce vans and 12 minibuses to schools catering to special children. The Special Education Complex in Hayatabad received PKR 274 million in funding, and 105 exhibitions were organized for special children, prisoners, and students of special education institutions.

The government also facilitated the enrollment of 102 hearing- and speech-impaired students in specialized educational institutions. Shelter homes provided food, accommodation, and transport services to 83,568 laborers and underprivileged individuals. During Ramadan, 368,142 deserving individuals received meals at Langar Khanas at a cost of PKR 50 million. An Eid package worth PKR 1.1 billion was distributed among 101,126 beneficiaries. The Braille Learning Academy at Peshawar University was allocated PKR 5 million for 100 visually impaired students, while four new special education institutions were established.

Efforts to combat drug addiction included the launch of three mobile training units for rehabilitation. Additionally, PKR 3.2 billion in Zakat was distributed among 118,828 deserving individuals, and PKR 118 million was allocated to cover tuition fees for 2,603 underprivileged students.

Several new Rescue 1122 stations were established in Bannu, Hangu, Karak, Lower Chitral, and Torghar. In Peshawar, a Braille printing press was set up for visually impaired children, while PKR 118 million was provided as financial assistance to 5,577 deserving students of religious seminaries. Rescue services treated 2,074 road accident victims at emergency stations. Following riots in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, the KP government arranged five special flights to repatriate 1,408 Pakistani students.

Under the province’s air transport and relief efforts, 21,000 kg of medicines were transported from Peshawar to Kurram via the provincial government’s helicopter. A total of 91 helicopter flights facilitated free air transport for 2,728 people from Kurram, while eight critically ill patients and 11 deceased individuals were transported via air ambulance. In a significant welfare initiative, PKR 6.4 billion was allocated to provide Eid packages to 640,000 deserving families, each receiving PKR 10,000.

The social welfare programs included the Kafalat Program, which allocated PKR 720 million to provide PKR 5,000 per month to orphaned children. Under the Sahara Program, PKR 1.2 billion was designated to support elderly widows with a monthly stipend of PKR 5,000. Additionally, the Khanna Abadi Program allocated PKR 90 million to fund the marriages of underprivileged girls.
