North Waziristan, March 2, 2025: Two soldiers were martyred when a suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden car into their convoy in the Eidak area of North Waziristan, security sources confirmed.

At least 10 people, including two civilians, were injured in the attack. The targeted vehicle was completely destroyed.

The martyrs and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital, while security forces launched a search operation in the surrounding areas to track down the perpetrators.

A day earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that security forces killed six terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Ghulam Khan village, North Waziristan.

In a separate incident on Saturday, a militant was killed, and a police officer was injured during a gunfight in Abbasa Khattak, Lakki Marwat.

According to police officials, terrorists ambushed a police patrol van between Abbasa Khattak and Wanda Shahabakhel in the trans-river belt area. District Police Officer Muhammad Jawad Ishaq immediately dispatched reinforcements to counter the attack.

During the exchange of fire, one militant was neutralized, while his accomplices managed to escape into nearby mountains. The injured police officer was moved to a hospital, where his condition is reported to be stable.

A heavy police contingent has been deployed to the mountainous terrain to locate the fleeing attackers.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed praised the policemen for their bravery in countering the terrorists and announced commendation certificates and cash rewards for their efforts.
