Quetta, March 3, 2025: A female suicide bomber targeted Pakistani paramilitary forces in Kalat District, Balochistan, killing one Frontier Corps soldier and injuring four others, a local official confirmed on Monday.
“One soldier of the Frontier Corps was killed, and four others were injured in the suicide attack carried out by a female bomber,” said Bilal Shabbir, Deputy Commissioner of Kalat District.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. However, the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA)—a banned militant group—has previously used female operatives in attacks, a rare tactic in a region where most suicide bombings have historically involved male perpetrators.
Balochistan has witnessed a surge in militant activity in recent months. In August 2024, at least 73 people were killed in coordinated terrorist attacks targeting police stations, railway lines, highways, and security forces across the province, prompting large-scale retaliatory operations.
