Islamabad, March 5, 2025: Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with US National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, during which both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening Pakistan-US relations and counterterrorism cooperation, sources disclosed.

According to a statement from the Foreign Office, Waltz conveyed President Donald Trump’s appreciation for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts in combating terrorism and maintaining regional stability.

Foreign Minister Dar congratulated Waltz on assuming office and expressed Pakistan’s desire to expand broad-based relations with the United States under the Trump administration.

During the conversation, counterterrorism cooperation remained a focal point. Dar welcomed President Trump’s decision to retrieve American military equipment left behind in Afghanistan, emphasizing its significance in regional security dynamics.

Both sides also discussed expanding collaboration in the fields of information technology, energy, and minerals, recognizing their strategic and economic importance. Additionally, they agreed to continue engagement on trade, investment, climate change, and health, ensuring a comprehensive bilateral agenda in the coming days.

The discussion underscored the mutual resolve to deepen Pakistan-US cooperation across multiple sectors, further strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations.
