Islamabad, May 19, 2026: The foreign ministers of Pakistan and nine other countries have strongly condemned the renewed Israeli assaults on the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing the attacks as violations of international law and international humanitarian law.

In a joint statement issued on Tuesday, the foreign ministers of Pakistan, Türkiye, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Indonesia, Jordan, Libya, Maldives, and Spain denounced the attacks on the flotilla, which they described as a peaceful civilian humanitarian initiative aimed at highlighting the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by the Palestinian people.

The ministers expressed grave concern over what they termed Israel’s continued hostile actions against civilian vessels and humanitarian activists, recalling similar interventions against previous flotillas in international waters.

The statement said that attacks on the vessels, along with the arbitrary detention of activists, constituted blatant violations of international law and humanitarian principles.

The participating countries also voiced serious concern over the safety and security of civilians involved in the flotilla mission and demanded the immediate release of all detained activists. They further called for full respect for the rights and dignity of the participants.

The ministers stressed that repeated assaults on peaceful humanitarian initiatives reflected a continued disregard for international law and freedom of navigation.

Calling on the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities, the statement urged concrete measures to ensure the protection of civilians and humanitarian missions, end impunity, and guarantee accountability for such violations.

The joint statement was issued by the foreign ministers on May 18, 2026, and released by Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad.
