Riyadh, September 13, 2024-Pakistan made a notable mark at the Global AI Summit, held from September 10-12, 2024, at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre in Riyadh. The summit, renowned as a leading global platform for advancing artificial intelligence (AI), convened top experts, academics, corporate leaders, and policymakers to shape AI’s future for the benefit of humanity.
This year’s event focused on bridging the gap between theoretical AI advancements and real-world applications, particularly in light of rapid developments in generative AI. Key sessions explored the pressing need to ensure AI’s vast potential translates into inclusive and tangible benefits for all.
Pakistan was represented by four distinguished IT professionals, whose contributions highlighted the country’s growing influence in the global AI landscape:
Mr. Yasar Ayaz and Mr. Shoaib-ur-Rehman participated in the session “Inclusive Tech Solutions: Bridging Gaps and Empowering Diverse Communities,” where they discussed innovative ways to leverage AI for digital inclusion.
Mr. Muhammad Haziq presented on “Delivering on the Innovation Promise of Startups,” focusing on how AI is fostering entrepreneurial growth and innovation. Mr. Tariq Khan addressed the session “Transforming Healthcare: AI’s Role in Strengthening Supply Chains,” where he explored the role of AI in revolutionizing healthcare logistics and delivery.
On the final day, the Pakistani Ambassador hosted a special networking dinner for the Pakistani IT experts and members of the Pakistani diaspora working in various sectors across Saudi Arabia. The event provided an excellent platform for fostering collaboration between Pakistan and the international AI community, paving the way for future partnerships and innovation.
