Karachi, March 27, 2025: Investigations into the murder of Karachi resident Mustafa Aamir are ongoing, with authorities delving deeper into the financial activities of suspect Armaghan. According to the investigative teams, Armaghan was involved in money laundering worth Rs. 20 billion through 40 different bank accounts.

The National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior’s sub-committee held its second meeting, where police, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and other relevant officials briefed the committee on the latest developments in the case. Sources revealed that bank managers handling Armaghan’s accounts will also be interrogated as part of the probe.

Investigators disclosed that Armaghan was provided security by two private security companies and a boxing association. A courier company that delivered packages to him has been issued a notice for further inquiry.

The FIA has also contacted individuals linked to Armaghan through Interpol, while investigations continue into his use of unregistered vehicles. A large cache of weapons recovered from his residence has been sent for forensic analysis, along with multiple mobile phones and laptops.

Earlier, authorities seized two cryptocurrency mining machines worth over Rs. 2 billion from Armaghan’s residence. Investigators revealed that he was running an illegal call center and transferring earnings to his cousin in the United States, who holds a digital dollar account.

Mustafa Aamir, a 23-year-old resident of Karachi’s Defence area, went missing on January 6. His charred body was discovered in Hub on February 14.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) CIA Mukaddas Haider, Mustafa was killed inside Armaghan’s house following a dispute. After being shot dead, his body was placed in a car trunk and transported to Hub, where it was set on fire inside the vehicle.

Authorities stated that Armaghan and another suspect, Shiraz, were responsible for setting the car ablaze, based on current findings. The investigation is ongoing, with further developments expected as forensic and financial probes continue.
