Lahore, March 30, 2025: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has confirmed the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon, paving the way for Eidul Fitr celebrations across Pakistan.

A meeting of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, chaired by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, was held at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Islamabad, where religious scholars, SUPARCO experts, and meteorologists assessed moon sighting reports from across the country.

Astronomical experts had earlier stated that the Shawwal moon was born on Saturday at 3:59 PM and would be over 25 hours old by Sunday evening, making it clearly visible to the naked eye. Reports of moon sightings from multiple regions further strengthened expectations of Eid falling on March 31.

With the moon sighting now confirmed, Muslims across Pakistan are set to celebrate Eidul Fitr with traditional festivities, prayers, and gatherings. The official announcement was made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee late Sunday night, bringing joy to millions eagerly awaiting the news.
