Rawalpindi, April 9, 2025: A high-level United States delegation led by Eric Meyer, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Wednesday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the Pakistan Mineral Investment Forum, where the US delegation acknowledged Pakistan’s growing emphasis on developing its vast mineral resources and welcomed the country’s efforts to attract mutually beneficial foreign investment in the sector.

Highlighting minerals as a strategic priority in Pakistan–US economic engagement, Meyer noted the improving investment climate in Pakistan and expressed Washington’s keen interest in contributing to its mining sector through public-private partnerships.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss regional security dynamics and global geopolitical developments. COAS Gen. Munir briefed the delegation on Pakistan’s security priorities, underscoring the importance of a stable environment for sustained economic growth and international collaboration.

Both sides expressed satisfaction over the positive momentum in bilateral ties and emphasized the need to expand cooperation through business-to-business (B2B) channels, while reinforcing government-to-government (G2G) and people-to-people (P2P) linkages.

According to the ISPR, the engagement reflected a shared commitment to further strengthen economic and security cooperation, particularly in sectors of mutual strategic interest such as minerals, trade, and regional stability.
