Peshawar, April 13, 2025: In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa gunned down three terrorists during a joint operation in the Tajori forest area of Lakki Marwat. According to police sources, the search and strike mission was carried out based on credible intelligence, targeting a group of 20 to 25 militants.

The operation, spearheaded by District Police Officer (DPO) Jawad Ishaq, involved personnel from the Lakki Marwat police, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and the Quick Response Force (QRF). A fierce two-hour exchange of fire ensued as the forces engaged the militants deep within the forest terrain.

Three terrorists were killed on the spot, while several others are believed to have sustained injuries and managed to escape under the cover of darkness. No casualties were reported among the security forces, a fact hailed as a testament to the professionalism and coordination of the personnel involved.

The operation was conducted under the direct orders of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed, who has intensified efforts to root out terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa amid a recent uptick in militant activity.

IGP Hameed lauded the courage and swift action of the Lakki Marwat police, announcing cash rewards and commendation certificates for the personnel involved. He also commended the steadfast support and patriotism of the local community, emphasizing the crucial role citizens play in the fight against extremism.

A follow-up operation is now underway to apprehend the injured and fleeing terrorists, as authorities continue their efforts to restore peace and security in the region.
