Islamabad, April 15, 2025: In a stirring address at the first-ever Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir issued a resolute message to the enemies of the country, declaring that Pakistan’s destiny cannot be dictated by terrorism.

“Even ten generations of terrorists cannot damage Balochistan or Pakistan,” said Gen Munir, stressing that the province is not only essential to the country’s future but also a symbol of its pride and resilience.

Reiterating the strength of the bond between the people and the armed forces, the Army Chief said that with the nation’s support, no challenge is too great. He underscored that Pakistan’s unity and determination remain unwavering in the face of threats and adversity.

Addressing the overseas community, Gen Munir expressed deep respect for their patriotism and sacrifices. “I am truly moved by your passion for Pakistan. Let me assure you that our bond with you is even stronger,” he stated. Rejecting the concept of brain drain, he referred to the Pakistani diaspora as a “brain gain,” highlighting their role as ambassadors and symbols of national excellence abroad.

“You are not just representatives; you are the brilliance of Pakistan that reflects across the world,” he said, encouraging expatriates to carry forward the country’s legacy and values with pride.

Gen Munir reminded the audience that Pakistan is richly endowed with natural resources and must collectively express gratitude for these blessings. He declared that no force can halt Pakistan’s progress and that any obstacle in the path of national development will be overcome.

He also emphasized the importance of resilience, identity, and heritage. “We do not fear adversity; we have never bowed to hardships, and we never will,” he asserted, reinforcing the national spirit of courage and perseverance.

Paying homage to the fallen heroes of the nation, Gen Munir stated that Pakistan’s martyrs are held in the highest esteem and their sacrifices will never be forgotten. He referred to them as eternal symbols of honour and valor.

Touching upon regional matters, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people, referring to Kashmir as the “jugular vein” of the nation. He also expressed deep solidarity with the people of Palestine, declaring that “the hearts of Pakistanis beat with the people of Gaza.”

Concluding his address on a note of optimism and resolve, Gen Munir declared that Pakistan’s journey towards progress is well underway. “The question is not if Pakistan will progress—but how fast,” he said, prompting a rousing chant of “Pakistan Zindabad” from the audience.
