Lahore, April 17, 2025: Pakistan booked their place in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 with a dominant 87-run win over Thailand in Lahore on Thursday, extending their unbeaten run in the qualifiers.

Skipper Fatima Sana led from the front after electing to bat first, guiding Pakistan to a competitive 205/6 in 50 overs. Top-order batter Sidra Amin anchored the innings with a composed 80 off 105 balls, hitting nine boundaries, while Sana remained unbeaten on 62 off 59, striking six fours and a six.

The pair put on a crucial 97-run stand for the fifth wicket after Pakistan were reduced to 85/4, stabilizing the innings and setting up a defendable total.

Thailand struggled in response, bundled out for just 118 in 34.4 overs. Nannapat Koncharoenkai top-scored with 19, while only a handful of other batters managed to reach double digits.

Pakistan’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Sana, Rameen Shamim, and Nashra Sandhu each picking up three wickets. Sadia Iqbal chipped in with one.

With this comprehensive victory, Pakistan not only sealed World Cup qualification with a game to spare but also climbed to the top of the qualifier standings, overtaking Bangladesh, who earlier lost narrowly to West Indies.

Pakistan will face Bangladesh on Saturday in what could be a preview of their competition at the main event later this year.
