Islamabad, October 26,2026: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday emphasised the need for speedy and transparent relief to taxpayers through the timely resolution of complaints and improved tax administration.

He expressed these views during a meeting with Federal Tax Ombudsman Zafar ul Haq Hijazi, who called on him in Islamabad.

Dar stressed the importance of improving systems, strengthening coordination with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and other relevant departments, and implementing recommendations to enhance grievance redressal mechanisms.

He said effective measures were needed to ensure that taxpayers received timely and fair relief while improving the overall efficiency of tax administration.

The Federal Tax Ombudsman briefed the deputy prime minister on ongoing reforms and initiatives aimed at facilitating taxpayers and enhancing institutional efficiency.
