Islamabad, May 2, 2025: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast more intermittent rains, gusty winds, and isolated hailstorms across various parts of the country, including the twin cities, starting Friday evening and continuing through Sunday.
According to the PMD, moist currents are entering the upper parts of the country, while a westerly wave is affecting the upper and central regions. These conditions are expected to bring scattered rains, strong winds, and isolated heavy downpours to Islamabad, Rawalpindi, the Potohar region, northeast and central Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Additionally, isolated showers and gusty winds may occur in parts of upper Sindh and northeast Balochistan.
The PMD has warned that weather conditions—including strong winds, hailstorms, and lightning, may cause damage to loose structures such as electric poles, trees, vehicles, and solar panels. This weather pattern is expected to persist until May 4.
Meanwhile, the last 24 hours have seen rain and gusty winds in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, upper and central Punjab, Kashmir, and parts of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Hot and dry conditions prevailed in the rest of the country.
