Dhaka, May 15, 2025: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received a green signal from the government for its upcoming white-ball tour of Pakistan, international media outlets reported Thursday.
Although the official letter of clearance is still pending, BCB officials confirmed that the decision to proceed with the tour has been made “in principle.” The tour will feature a five-match T20I series and is set to begin later this month.
“We have got the green signal (from the government), though we are yet to receive the official letter,” a BCB official told an international sports website. “Once we have the letter in hand, we will initiate discussions with our players. Some have expressed concerns over security, and we want to make it clear: no one will be forced to travel.”
The BCB had previously stated that it would seek government approval before finalizing the tour itinerary and taking the players’ consent.
Currently, the Bangladesh national team is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a short tour, where they are scheduled to play two T20Is on May 17 and 19.
The original Pakistan tour was set to begin on May 25 in Faisalabad, but due to the suspension of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has proposed a revised schedule.
As per the new itinerary sent on May 13, Faisalabad will host the first three T20Is on May 27, 29, and June 1, while Lahore will stage the final two matches on June 3 and 5.
The series is expected to serve as crucial preparation for both sides ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2025, slated for later this year.
