Rawalpindi, May 16, 2025: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday paid homage to the martyrs and heroes of Ma’arka-e-Haq (Battle of Truth) by visiting both the residence of a martyred air force officer and the injured personnel at Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Rawalpindi.

Accompanied by Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, and Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, the prime minister first visited the residence of Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom while defending the nation during the recent conflict with India.

During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz expressed heartfelt condolences to the martyr’s father and family, offered Fateha, and prayed for the elevation of Squadron Leader Usman Yousaf’s ranks in Jannah. He paid glowing tribute to the young officer’s supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, saying, “His sacrifice is a source of pride for the entire nation and a symbol of our unwavering defence.”

Later, the prime minister visited CMH Rawalpindi to inquire after the health of Pakistan Army soldiers and civilians who sustained injuries during the battle. While meeting the injured, he lauded their bravery and dedication, stating, “The way Pakistan’s armed forces and our resilient nation stood together in this war is unparalleled in our history.”

He acknowledged the unwavering determination and sense of duty shown by the injured personnel, calling it a decisive chapter in Pakistan’s military legacy. The prime minister also prayed for the swift recovery of all those injured and reiterated the government’s firm support for the families of martyrs and ghazis.
