Dera Ismail Khan, May 25, 2025: Pakistani security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Darazinda area of Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, officials confirmed on Sunday.
The gun battle erupted during a raid prompted by actionable intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area. A fierce exchange of fire ensued, resulting in the deaths of four terrorists on the spot.
According to security sources, three of the deceased militants have been identified as Behram, Maulana Bodan, and Fateh. The identity of the fourth individual remains unconfirmed. Authorities suspect the group was involved in multiple attacks targeting both civilians and law enforcement personnel in the region.
Following the encounter, security forces conducted a clearance operation to ensure the area was fully secured. No casualties were reported among the security personnel.
This operation is part of a broader and ongoing counterterrorism drive led by the Pakistan Army and intelligence agencies to eliminate militant networks and restore peace across the country.
The latest clash comes amid heightened security concerns following a recent suicide bombing in Khuzdar, Balochistan, where a school bus was targeted. The attack claimed the lives of eight students and has been linked by officials to Indian-backed proxies aiming to destabilize the region.
Security analysts warn that rising tensions with India have emboldened such proxy groups, further complicating Pakistan’s internal security landscape. However, military leadership has vowed to continue operations with full force to dismantle all terrorist networks threatening national peace and stability.
